As we get closer to our March Food Swap, are you wondering what’s in season while you look for ideas for things to swap? Foodland Ontario has a great chart that shows produce availability throughout the year. Available here, the availability guide shows that in March, the following produce is in season:
Onions (cooking and red)
Does that inspire some ideas for our March swap? Don’t forget, you can also theme your swap items… we’re swapping the day after St. Patrick’s Day and a couple days before the start of spring. Both are great ideas to theme.
Details about the March Food Swap are available here. Remember, you need to register and get a ticket at Eventbrite for our swaps. Go to our March Swap Eventbrite and get your ticket today!
That’s right! After a few months of planning and hunting and retooling, we’re delighted to announce the first food swap of 2014! It’s time to shake of the dreariness of the long cold winter and start thinking and planning for spring… and we’re excited that we can kick off the new season with a food swap.
Here are the basic details:
WHAT: April Food Swap
WHERE: Taste of Colombia – El Salon (67 Bronte Rd. Oakville, ON)
WHEN: Tuesday, April 1st, 7-9pm
WHY: Because we love getting together to share and swap locally made and grown food.
Just thinking of April 1st makes us think of green things and spring! As always, we are always excited to see what new and exciting things our swappers bring to the table… and then we get to see all the yummy things we get to take home!
We cannot wait to see you at our first swap of 2014. Everyone who swaps needs a ticket, so make sure you get over to our Eventbrite page and sign up!
See you on the 1st!
